Easy Fruit Syrup

Heat jelly or jam in microwave or in a pan on the stove. Add a little water or apple juice to make it thin.

Maple Syrup

2 cupssugar or 1 cup white + 1 cup brown
1 cupwater


Boil for 5 minutes.
Remove from heat and add:

1/2 tsp mapeleine extract

Hot Pockets

Refrigerator rolls or biscuits fillings such as tuna, chicken salad pepperoni, cheese and pizza sauce or just cheese.

For each pocket, take one slice or biscuit from each tube and slightly flatten and stretch. Add fillings. Flatten another slice, then place on top of the filling. Seal the edge of the 2 biscuits together by pressing with a fork, or making a thumb print, or rolling the edge of the bottom biscuit onto the top biscuit. Bake for 10-12 minutes at 375 degrees.

Open Faced Grilled Sandwiches

Place 1 slice bread with cheese or filling on it on the rack in a preheated oven--set to broil. Place a cookie sheet under the bread to catch spills. Broil 1-2 minutes until cheese is melted. Watch carefully so as not to burn it. Pull the rack in and out with mits to prevent burning yourself!

Toad in a Hole Sandwiches

Butter 1 slice of bread. Cut a 2 1/2 inch circle out of the center with a glass or cookie cutter. Place the bread butter side down in a preheated skillet. Crack a egg into the hole of the bread. Cook for several minutes, salt and pepper, and turn over to cook the other side. Cook the circular bread "lid" also. Serve with the "lid" placed on top of the egg. Don't ask why it's called "Toad in a Hole" I don't know!

Grilled Sandwiches

Butter 2 slices of bread. Place butter side down in a non-stick skillet. Place sliced cheese, and or tuna salad, or chicken salad on the bread. Top the cheese or meat with another slice of buttered bread-butter side up. Fry on medium heat until golden brown, then flip and brown the other side. Serve warm with tomato soup, or salad.

Bean Dip

Layer the following:

refried beans-heated through
salsa
cheddar cheese, grated
sliced avacados or guacamoli
sour cream mixed with dry taco seasoning
diced tomatos
sliced olives
chopped green onion

Serve with corn chips to dip with. ENJOY!

Easy Pizza

Make as many as you want, but have the following ingredients

English muffins
spaghetti sauce
mozzarella cheese
cheddar cheese

Choose from the following toppings:

pepperoni slices
canadian bacon
lunch meat
olives, pineapple, tomatos etc.

Split open the muffins and spread with spaghetti sauce. Top with the cheeses, then the meat. Add the other toppings after baking for best flavor. Place on an ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 400 degrees for 4-6 minutes or until the cheese is bubbling and melted. Watch them carefully

Variation:
Use french bread cut lengthwise in half or in thirds, and top as above.

Quesadillas

Make as many as you want, but have the following ingredients available to use.

flour torillas
refried beans
cheese
salsa

Optional:
Chicken or beef-cooked
peppers-saute'd
onions-saute'd
green onions

Spread refried beans over tortillas, then top with cheese. Add optional ingredients as desired. Add a second tortilla as a top. Fry the tortilla in an ungreased hot skillet for 2-3 minutes. Turn and brown the flipped side. Cut into wedges and serve with salsa, sour cream etc.

Easy Chicken Casserole

1 cancan mushroom soup
1 cancan cream of chicken soup
1 packagepackage onion soup mix, or 2 tablespoons dried onions
1 cuprice
1 1/2 cupmilk
2-3 cupscooked chicken (or canned)


Combine all ingredients in a large casserole dish. Add 1 tsp. rosemary and 1/2 tsp. seasoned pepper if using plain onions. Bake covered for 45 minutes at 350 degrees.

No Bake Peanut Butter Drop Cookies

1 cube margarine
1 1/2 cupgranulated sugar
1/2 cup milk

Boil for one minute.
Add:
1/2 cuppeanut butter
1/2 tsp. vanilla
4 cupsQuick oats


Drop by teaspoon full onto wax paper. Let cool to harden.
