Easy Fruit Syrup

Heat jelly or jam in microwave or in a pan on the stove. Add a little water or apple juice to make it thin.

Maple Syrup

2 cupssugar or 1 cup white + 1 cup brown
1 cupwater

Boil for 5 minutes.
Remove from heat and add:

1/2 tsp mapeleine extract

Nauvoo Syrup

1 cubebutter
1 cupgranulated sugar
1/2 cupyogurt (strawberry is really good) or buttermilk

BOIL 1 minute (I usually go a little longer, so it really caramelizes)

1/2 tspbaking soda
1 tspvanilla

Hot Pockets

Refrigerator rolls or biscuits fillings such as tuna, chicken salad pepperoni, cheese and pizza sauce or just cheese.

For each pocket, take one slice or biscuit from each tube and slightly flatten and stretch. Add fillings. Flatten another slice, then place on top of the filling. Seal the edge of the 2 biscuits together by pressing with a fork, or making a thumb print, or rolling the edge of the bottom biscuit onto the top biscuit. Bake for 10-12 minutes at 375 degrees.

Open Faced Grilled Sandwiches

Place 1 slice bread with cheese or filling on it on the rack in a preheated oven--set to broil. Place a cookie sheet under the bread to catch spills. Broil 1-2 minutes until cheese is melted. Watch carefully so as not to burn it. Pull the rack in and out with mits to prevent burning yourself!
